Tradeweb Markets and Chainlink announced a collaboration on Nov. 4 to publish Tradeweb FTSE U.S. Treasury Benchmark Closing Prices on-chain through DataLink. The partnership aims to provide institutional clients with direct access to benchmark pricing for U.S. Treasury securities across blockchain networks.
DataLink is an institutional-grade data publishing service powered by Chainlink that connects data providers to on-chain protocols without requiring them to build or maintain blockchain infrastructure, according to Tradeweb. The service allows data owners to publish information to blockchains while maintaining security and compliance standards. Chainlink has facilitated tens of trillions of dollars in transaction value over five years.
Expanding Treasury Market Access
The collaboration addresses the U.S. Treasury market, one of the most liquid and traded asset classes globally. Chris Bruner, Chief Product Officer at Tradeweb, said the partnership represents a step forward in modernizing traditional financial markets through blockchain applications. The on-chain availability of benchmark prices aims to provide institutions with improved access and 24/7 availability for Treasury data.
Sergey Nazarov, Chainlink Co-Founder, described the collaboration as a signal that tokenized finance adoption is accelerating. He said the partnership unlocks a new generation of tokenized funds and financial products while bringing institutional-grade reliability and compliance to blockchain markets.
Technical Infrastructure and Coverage
Tradeweb FTSE U.S. Treasury Benchmark Closing Prices are derived using executable pricing levels available on the Tradeweb platform. The benchmark prices are registered under the EU and UK Benchmark Regulation and serve as official closing prices for FTSE’s World Government Bond Index. The data set covers U.S. Treasury notes, bonds, bills, strips and Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities, with benchmark levels collected at 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. New York time.
Tradeweb becomes the first data publisher for DataLink, joining over 2,000 on-chain applications across more than 60 public and private blockchains in the Chainlink ecosystem. The infrastructure currently secures nearly $100 billion in DeFi total value locked. The partnership contributes to the growing institutional adoption of blockchain technology in traditional finance, as major financial institutions explore the tokenization of real-world assets.
