KuPool announced the appointment of Shelton Qiu as Chief Operating Officer on Nov. 6, 2025. Qiu brings nearly a decade of blockchain and mining experience from his previous role at SparkPool, where he served as Marketing Director and Business Development Lead.
During his tenure at SparkPool, Qiu contributed to building the platform into the largest Ethereum mining pool globally, according to a Nov. 6 announcement from KuCoin. He focused on technological innovation and community development within the Ethereum Proof-of-Work ecosystem prior to the network’s transition to Proof-of-Stake.
Background and Experience
Qiu’s work at SparkPool included advancing engineering practices and promoting knowledge sharing across the mining industry. His experience spans technical operations, business development, and ecosystem partnerships within the Ethereum mining sector. At KuPool, he will oversee operational strategy and the development of mining infrastructure across multiple Proof-of-Work cryptocurrencies.
Strategic Focus Areas
The new COO will lead efforts to expand Litecoin mining hashrate, improve system stability, and increase profitability for institutional mining clients. KuPool supports merged mining for Litecoin and Dogecoin, as well as PEPE, Lucky, and BELLS tokens, through its mining infrastructure.
Chris Zhu, Head of KuPool, stated that Qiu’s engineering expertise and ecosystem development background will accelerate growth in DOGE and LTC mining operations. The platform emphasizes stable hashrate delivery and transparent profit distribution for miners.
