- Big Vision Pictures develops three films blending storytelling with blockchain tech.
- BVP introduces a transparent, token-based model for fan and creator participation.
- Fox veteran Emiliano Saccone joins to lead production and content strategy.
Big Vision Pictures (BVP), a Los Angeles-based entertainment studio, announced on Oct. 31 it is in active development on three feature films. The studio is developing two projects, one by screenwriter Laurice E. Molinari and an untitled boxing drama by Robert Homer Mollohan.
The announcement comes as BVP positions itself as a studio fusing traditional storytelling with blockchain technology, according to a press release. Molinari previously wrote My Favorite Martian and authored the Ethereal Worlds book series. Mollohan co-wrote Road to Paloma. The studio recently completed an initial funding round, though financial details were not disclosed.
Blockchain-Based Studio Model
BVP utilizes blockchain infrastructure and smart contracts to construct what it refers to as a decentralized ecosystem for creators and fans. CEO Angelique Barcelo stated that smart contracts serve as an antidote to traditional Hollywood accounting practices, emphasizing transparency in the filmmaking process.
The studio’s model allows fans, creators, and investors to participate as stakeholders through token-backed participation and digital collectibles. CFO Brian Williams noted the participation process is designed to be accessible for those unfamiliar with crypto. BVP clarified that its tokens are designed for participation and access rather than investment or profit.
Production Partnership
Fox veteran Emiliano Saccone and his MECENAS Studios will serve as the production backbone for BVP’s creative pipeline. Saccone will also shape the studio’s content strategy as it moves forward with the three projects.
Barcelo stated BVP aims to create what she described as a new lane where storytelling, technology, and community converge. The studio has not disclosed specific release windows or detailed plot information for the three films in development.
